On Sun 7/17, KGH associates participated in the 2011 SF AIDS Walk in beautiful Golden Gate Park lead by team captain Drew Bergin and we raised $600!  Overall, the entire event generated over $3.1 million dollars towards AIDS research.

Something in the water?

We have had a busy year here at the Bend Hotels and figured it was about time we posted something about it! We have had a baby boom of all girls and figured we should share the cuteness with all of you. :)

First up is Tiffany's baby; Tiffany is our FOM at the Fairfield Inn & Suites. She had a little girl on January 6th and her name is Halle. She has the prettiest eyes!

Next up is Julio's granddaughter. She was born on April 26th and her name is Penelope. Look at all that hair!

And the most recent little girl is Piper's. She was born on May 18th and her name is Avery. She doesn't have as much hair as Halle or Penelope yet so she has to wear a mohawk. :)

Congratulations to Ina and Sally who were both recognized as Employee of the Month at Best Western Seven Seas!

Congratulations to Sally, a wonderful front desk employee, who was the Employee of the Month for June!

Sally was recognized by one of our group clients for her calm demeanor and quick thinking to solve some issues at the Front Desk.  This group was particularly difficult and Sally’s professionalism is truly appreciated!  Keep up the good work Sally!

Elan Hotel's "Employee of the Quarter" 2011

Congratulations goes out to Rafael Ayala Jr. who has won the Employee of the 2nd Quarter Award. Rafael has been employed at the Elan Hotel since May of 2008. His contributions as a teamplayer have helped to make the Front Office run smoothly on a daily basis. Rafael is known for turning his booked reservations into upsells which helps to raise the ADR. Thanks Rafael.

Where Magazine Event/Elan Hotel

Last week Front Desk Team Members Omar Mendez and Rafael Ayala Jr. attended a Los Angeles Where Magazine Event hosted by Starline/TMZ. There were many Concierge's from local hotels at this event and it was a fun night. All of the attendees got to take the TMZ Tour of LA. Omar and Rafael could not pass on getting a picture taken with Harvey Levin founder of TMZ.

Fresh Look for Photo Shoot!

Recently Jennifer Langham came to the Bristol to oversee a professional photo shoot. It was exciting because we have been wanting new photos to showcase the Bristol and highlight items such as our Daisy's Bistro menu selections, new Bistro signage and recently updated upholstery in the lobby.

It was really interesting to see what goes in to a photo shoot - Jennifer, John, Shannon, Lisa and Deb were running around preparing the next room or banquet space set-up while the photographers were taking shots somewhere else. A lot of thought and preparation goes into it, and then all the photo proofs have to be checked in case they need airbrushing or editing of any kind.

Congratulations to the Royal Service Superstars at the King George!

Olay 'Phommahaxay, Reservations Manager won the GM’s Award of Excellence on June 3, 2011 for her direct contribution with the hotels improved revenue performance.  She has been with the company for 11 months.

Kirk Spaseff, Guest Service Associate/Night Auditor won the GM’s Award of Excellence on June 3, 2011 for his team work and consistent delivery of great customer service!  He has been with the company for 8 months.

Joseph Leung, Concierge won the GM’s Award of Excellence on June 3, 2011 for his delivery of exceptional customer service.  He has been with the company for 6 years.

Vien Loc, Office Manager won the GM’s Award of Excellence on June 3, 2011 for supporting each department and being a true team player!  She has been with the company for 6 years.

Jun Berton, Cluster Sales Office won the Manager of the 1^st Quarter on June 3^rd  for her tremendous contributions with improving the hotels revenue performance.  She has been with the company for 8 months.

Rosemarie Alcontin, Houseperson won the Associate of the 1^st Quarter on June 3^rd  for being a true team player and supporting each department.  She has been with the company for 13 years.
