Creekside Inn Christmas Lunch & Employee of the 4th Quarter

Today the Management at the Creekside Inn held a special Christmas lunch for the associates of the hotel, which featured tacos, quesadillas, tamales and flan.  Lots of great prizes were given away to the employees and Catalina Valenzuela was recognized for her 41 years of service at the Creekside Inn. During the Christmas lunch, Julian Cruz was named the Employee of the 4th Quarter for his dedicated work and exceptional service at the hotel. In addition, Julian also won a TV and sound system! Congratulations and a job well done to both Catalina Valenzuela and Julian Cruz.

Inn at Union Square Halloween Pumpkin Carving Contest

This Halloween, the staff at the Inn at Union Square pulled out all the stops to carve up their best pumpkins for the hotel's annual Pumpkin Carving Contest! Guests ultimately had the final say as to which pumpkin was the scariest and funniest as they were asked to vote for their favorites. The winner in each category will be announced shortly. Check out all of the festive pumpkins below!

Creekside Inn Employee of the 3rd Quarter Award

Today the Creekside Inn hosted their 3rd Quarter Associate celebration which featured a Halloween theme! Food and beverages were provided for the staff and the Employee of the 3rd Quarter Award was handed out. The Employee of the Quarter was awarded to Griselda Soto for her exceptional work at the Creekside Inn. Congratulations to Griselda and a job well done!

Elan Hotel's "Employee of the 2nd Quarter" 2014



We are very happy to announce that Alondra Diaz has won our Employee of the 2nd Quarter Award 2014.  Alondra has been employed at the Elan Hotel since February 2010 and has proven to be an asset to our company.  Alondra keeps busy with her primary job as Room Attendant and also fills in as our Breakfast Attendant. The photo above shows William Rabanalez, Operations Manager, Alondra Diaz, and Carlos Zuniga, Executive Housekeeper.  Congratulations Alondra on a job well done!

Hotel Griffon and Habitat for Humanity

The Hotel Griffon is working with Habitat for Humanity to donate used toilets that would otherwise be sent to a recycling center to be crushed and re-constituted. The 1.6 GPF toilets are being replaced with higher efficiency toilets as part of the Hotel Griffon's 2014 guestroom renovations. 

The Hotel Griffon is proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity to provide them these usable resources and to further the Hotel Griffon's environmental policies by donating usable items to the community instead of disposing of them.

New Fitness Equipment at The Bristol

Our employees have told us that guest feedback on the fitness room was positive overall, but that our guests would love to have more space for stretching or doing yoga, and they also wanted hand-held weights available.

SO....Check out the new fitness equipment in our Fitness Room at the Bristol Hotel!



We recently removed some old equipment and, per our guests' requests, have left open space for stretching, yoga and exercising.  The hand-held weights, mats and exercise ball are all new.  They will be great additions to the elliptical, treadmill and exercise cycle already in the gym.  We are excited to hear back from guests and hope that they enjoy these additions to our fitness area.

Employee feedback about guest requests is critical because we are always striving to improve the overall guest experience - thank you, everyone!

Congratulations to Bradley Z. on a Job Well Done!

The Fairfield Inn & Suites Bend Downtown would like to congratulate Bradley Z. on a job well done! When a guest arrived at the hotel seeking a reservation, Bradley went above and beyond to assist the guest. Although the guest was unable to book a stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites, Bradley was kind enough to contact the TownePlace Suites up the road to secure a reservation for the guest in addition to providing excellent recommendations for things to do and see in a professional and helpful manner. As a result of Bradley's exceptional customer service, the Fairfield Inn & Suites received an excellent, 5-star review on Tripadvisor (see below)! Way to go Brad!

Title: Clean, convenient and outstanding front desk
Description: A last minute road trip landed us in Bend at 6pm without pre planning or reservations. Tired, hungry and unknowledgable about the area, we popped into the Inn to inquire about a room. The lobby and area surrounding was new, clean and active with families obtaining free washing machine soap and settling in. Bradley Z. was running the front desk, with phones ringing, a mom seeking popcorn, a man requesting quarters all the while trying to secure me a reservation at their sister Marriot hotel. I didn't stay in a room here, but I would if I hadn't had two dogs in tow, Bradley contacted their sister location across town which was pet friendly and matched the rate located on trip advisor with a small additional pet fee. He printed directions from the Fairfield Inn & Suites and spoke to the front desk at TownPlace Suites advising them of our pending arrival. He then went on to answer my additional inquiries about other town locations, showcasing excellent customer service and vast local knowledge. He was a breathe of fresh air for this weary traveler. Thank you Brad Z! Stay here if you are pet less and wish to walk to town, it's a value.

Elizabeth joined the Bristol team on August 14th as Director of Sales.  Having over 12 years of Sales experience, and 16 years in Hospitality, Elizabeth brings a wealth of experience and knowledge with her and we are looking forward to working together.

In her time outside of the office, Elizabeth enjoys spending every second with her family (which includes her 4 lovely daughters, ages 4 through 21).

Farewell to Wayne Olson!

Wayne Olson retired from the Inn at Union Square on Friday, August 15, 2014 after 5 years as Innkeeper and General Manager. Wayne has been an integral part of the Inn at Union Square's continued and impressive Tripadvisor status , out-gunning the major luxury brands such as St. Regis, Ritz Carlton and Four Seasons for a consistent top three rating over his tenure. He also helped guide the staff to provide an exceptional service experience to each guest during every stay by using his charm, wit and knowledge to entertain and pamper our guests.

On Thursday, August 4, a small reception was held at the Inn to wish him well on his new adventures in Seattle.

Wayne will certainly will be missed, both professionally and personally.

Congratulations to Santiago on Completing the SF Marathon!

Hotel Griffon Guest Services Agent Santiago Morales completed his first full marathon on July 27, 2014 in a very respectable time of 4 hours 18 minutes. Santiago competed in the San Francisco Marathon, which begins and ends in front of the Hotel Griffon, with his girlfriend who also completed her first full marathon.

Congratulations Santiago. A major accomplishment and job well done!

Dora has been working at the Bristol as a Room Attendant in the Housekeeping Department for over  15 years.  Guests often write glowing comments about Dora, who always seems to have a smile on her face and a positive attitude as well!  Dora not only gets all of her assigned rooms cleaned and serviced quickly each and every day, but she is truly an employee whom Vicky (Executive Housekeeper) can count on to set a great example for all Room Attendants and all team members.

Congratulations to Maria Enriquez who was recently awarded the Employee of the 2nd Quarter Award at the Inn at Union Square.  Maria has been a valued employee at the Inn since 2008 working primarily as a Night Auditor. Elan Hotel's Employee of the 1st Quarter 2014
