Hotel Griffon Names Employee of the Quarter

Congratulations Jesus Valdovinos!

In a lunchtime celebration, the Hotel Griffon recognized the Exceptional Service provided by Jesus Valdovinos as "Employee of the Quarter."  Jesus, pictured below with Hotel Griffon General Manager Ramon Serrano, was honored over lunchtime sandwiches Friday in downtown San Francisco.  Congratulations and thank you Jesus!!

Bristol Hotel Donates to YWCA: Becky's House

YWCA of San Diego County hosts a domestic violence program known as Becky's House. Though Becky's House, YWCA provides extensive services to more than 8,300 individuals each year. Some of these services include safe house, 24-hour domestic violence hotline, legal assistance, and so much more. The Bristol Hotel became involved with the YWCA during its past service day participation, where the Bristol Hotel hosted a table on information on Becky's house in the front lobby. Besides creating awareness of such a great program, the Bristol Hotel wanted to become more involved. The Bristol Hotel decided to make a contribution of 110 Clean the World toiletry kits to the program. This was such a wonderful contribution and Greystone Hotels is proud that the Bristol Hotel took it one step further. Thank you Bristol Hotel for continuing to provide an exceptional service and experience for others! Continue the great work!

King George Hotel Celebrates Employee Appreciation

King George Hotel Hosts Employee Appreciation Luncheon

The King George Hotel in San Francisco recently celebrated their quarterly employee appreciation luncheon by having lunch catered by Premier Catering. It was a great time to spend lunch together. At the luncheon, Daisy Deguzman (Laundry Overnight Attendant) was recognized as Employee of the Quarter! Daisy has a great attitude and is always a team player willing to help out where ever needed. She received an extra $200 on her paycheck for all her hard work! Runner-up for the quarter was Minh Ly (Front Office Guest Service Agent). 

As another fun contest to play, employees submitted pictures for Cutest Photo and Cutest Family. There were so many great photos to choose from! Here are the winners:

New Additions to the Greystone Team in the Bay Area

Greystone is happy to announce new team members to the Bay Area. Let's welcome to the team Richard Cole (King George Hotel), Susanna Wong (Hotel Griffon and the Inn at Union Square), and Caroline Perez-Lopez (Creekside Inn).

Meet and Greet

Richard Cole

Richard is the new Senior Sales Manager at the King George Hotel in San Francisco. He has a wealth of experience in the hotel industry by starting his career in Beverly Hills, CA in the reservations department. Since then, Richard has been working in hotel sales not only in California but in Chicago as well! 

Fun Fact: Richard loves to snowboard and he recently welcomed into his family a new puppy named Sophie! Sophie will be turning 6 months old this coming June.

Susanna Wong

Susanna is the new Sales Manager at the Hotel Griffon in San Francisco, as well as the Inn at Union Square in San Francisco. Susanna graduated from University of Nevada-Las Vegas in Hotel Management. Soon after she began her career in hospitality by working for the MGM Grand Hotel, Wynn Hotel, and others. 

Fun Fact: Susanna has a hobby of hot air ballooning! On her bucket list, she plans to hot air balloon once in each state!

Carolina Perez-Lopez

Carolina is the new Sales Manager at the Creekside Inn in Palo Alto. She brings with her over 15 years of catering, sales, wedding, and hospitality experience. She is also a Certified Meeting Planner as well as a Certified Wedding Planner.

Fun Fact: Carolina is a Certified Zumba Instructor! During the summer, she teaches free zumba lessons in the park near her home. It has become a great family activity in her neighborhood!

Empress Hotel Celebrates Four Birthday's in April

Empress Hotel's Day of Service

 

On Saturday, April 23rd the Empress Hotel helped to make a contribution to the environment by participated in the Creek to Bay Cleanup which is an annual event here in La Jolla.  The picture above shows Joel, Trisha, and Larry at the beginning of the event.  Trisha won 2 ticket to Legoland for the most unusual item found.  Way to go Trisha!

Greystone Hotels Makes Donation to Nature Conservancy

On Friday, April 29th, 2016, Greystone Hotels President, Eric Horodas presented a $2,500 check to Jennifer Marlow of The Nature Conservancy. The contribution was part of an Earth Day Celebration that included community service in all 11 Greystone Hotel local communities. The check presentation took place in San Francisco at the Hotel Griffon and included property GM, Ramon Serrano.

Greystone Hotels Celebrates Earth Day!

In honor and celebration of Earth Day 2016, Greystone Hotels 11 properties in California and Oregon each took part in a day of service in their local community. Each hotel chose an organization that provided direct connection to their local area. From Bend, Ore., all the way down to the beaches of La Jolla, and downtown San Diego, here are some photos and recaps of each:

Bristol Hotel, San Diego celebrated with the YWCA of San Diego County by putting together and donating kits to Becky’s House, a domestic violence shelter for men, women and children in San Diego. (Becky's House - www.ywcasandiego.org)

King George Hotel, San Francisco volunteered with GLIDE, a local organization that creates a community to alleviate suffering by poverty. The King George Hotel participated in a day of feeding the hungry. (Glide's "Feed the Hungry" Initiative: www.glide.org/feedthehungry)

Fairfield Inn & Suites and TownePlace Suites, Bend, Oregon partnered with Bend Parks and Recreation Department to help clean up a future site for a community park. (SE Bend Park Site Cleanup - www.getconnected.volunteerconnectnow.org)

Best Western Seven Seas, San Diego and Empress Hotel, La Jolla volunteered with their families at the Creek to Bay Clean-up. (14th Annual Creek to Bay Clean Up - www.creektobay.org)

Elan Hotel, Los Angeles spent their time cleaning up a local park, Pan Pacific Park, in Los Angeles County. (Clean Pan Pacific Park - www.laparks.org)

Inn at Union Square and Hotel Griffon, San Francisco together joined the organization, Adopt a Street, where both properties helped clean-up Justin Herman Plaza and Sue Bierman Park. (Adopt-A-Street Program - www.sfdpw.org/adopt-street-program.com)

Hotel Los Gatos, Los Gatos volunteered by cleaning up a local beach. (Save our Shores - http://www.saveourshores.org/)
